Researching, developing, and publishing critical text editions of Latter Day Saint scriptural works
Researching, developing, and publishing critical text editions of Latter Day Saint scriptural works
All surviving manuscripts responsible for the earliest texts and all the texts’ published editions are identified.
Transcriptions are made of each source.
Revelation Book 1
Book of Commandments (1833)
The Evening and the Morning Star
Each unit of text (lemma) is compared against all other sources.
An apparatus for noting all variants is built from tracking the differences across sources.
A readable version enhances textual research and source-critical analysis—a critical edition of Restoration scriptures.
